Exam format

  • Listening — audio played once from HSK 3 up, twice at levels 1 and 2.
  • Reading — simplified characters, no pinyin from HSK 3.
  • Writing — from HSK 3: sentence ordering, then composition at higher levels.
  • Speaking (HSKK) — a separate exam taken in addition when required.

An 8-week prep plan

  • Weeks 1–4: cover the full level vocabulary list, max 25 new words a day with daily spaced reviews.
  • Weeks 5–6: grammar points plus daily listening, audio played once only.
  • Week 7: two timed mock exams and a detailed error review.
  • Week 8: reviews and weak words only, no new vocabulary.
